Ravishing Recipes

Edition 4

Hello, hello there, {%FIRSTNAME%}! Happy June, we're already on the sixth month of the year! :0 My name is Isabela Zimri and you're reading the fourth edition of Ravishing Recipes! This blog is for all food lovers who want to try new recipes in their kitchen, specifically food and drinks that you can see in the wizarding world and on WoP UK! Let's hop right in and make...

Treacle Fudge

This delish food can be bought from the Sweet Shoppe in the Village.
Fun Fact: These are stone-hard fudges that soften after quite a while of chewing, but at least the flavor stays the same!

Doesn't that look so good? The lovely website I got it from can be found here, there's a few important notes included there if you would like to make some treacle fudges. If you use the following recipe and the same amount of ingredients, you'll have 64 treacle fudges! It'll probably take about 45 minutes to an hour to make them! :D

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 Tbsp. black treacle
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Grease an 8-inch square pan and set aside.
  2. Combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, butter, heavy cream, treacle, and cream of tartar in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat and constantly stir until the butter is melted and the ingredients are combined.
  3. Wash down the sides of the pot with a pastry brush dipped in hot water if sugar crystals form on the sides.
  4. Clip a candy thermometer to the pot and continue to cook without stirring until the mixture reaches 240°F on thermometer.
  5. Remove the pan from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Allow bubbles to subside and the mixture to cool slightly (for about 5 minutes). Remove the thermometer and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture loses its gloss and is very thick (for about 15–20 minutes)
  7. Scrape the mixture into the greased pan. Use the palm of your hand (make sure to wear gloves! c:) to smooth the top of the fudge.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into 1-inch squares.
