A Deeper Magical Look

= Issue #1 =

Hi it's Alicia, I'm really happy to see you again in my new blog about items from the magical world and I really hope you will enjoy reading it! Have fun!

Butterbeer

Let's start with the Butterbeer, a famous beverage that you probably know (if you didn't it would be pretty weird) and that can be found in many places, for example in the three broomsticks, the leaky cauldron and many others! If you're wondering if there can be alcohol, the answer is yes, but a small amount that can still get the houses-elves drunk. Fortunately, there is an antidote! If you didn't know, house elves are less resistant to alcohol than humans, which can cause problems. But enough about elves even if they are so fabulous, let's talk about humans and more precisely about the taste they feel when drinking a butterbeer. This drink is often described as having the taste of butterscotch but less sickly. If you ever want to know some of the ingredients that make up a butterbeer, the one made at the leaky chauldron is composed of butterscotch, sugar and water. As I am a lovely person (or not, you decide...) I will give you one last little information about this drink!Madam Rosmerta who was landlady of the three broomsticks has created a sweet version she put in several ingredients like Mallowsweet, Moondew and Sugar Shrub. Exciting isn't it? I hope you have learned a little bit about this decilious beverage because let's move on to our first sweet treat!

Fizzings Whizzbees

For the first sweet treat I'm going to introduce you to Fizzings Whizzbees! You may know this candy made by the Queenbee company, but did you know that it has the ability to make you float? a few inches off the ground of course, it would be annoying if someone found himself on the moon after sucking a fizzing whizzbees. Do you know that the name of these sweets were the passwords of Albus Dumbledore the former principal of Hogwarts? If this information has made you want to try them, you can get them in the fabulous and famous Honeydukes store! There is a rumor that his delicious candy was made of dried billywig stings, true or false? you guess...

Firewhisky

The next drink is quite famous and forbidden to people under the age of seventeen, can you guess? It is of course the Firewhisky. This drink is known to cause a burning sensation when drunk and also gives a lot of courage. If you are old enough you can find it in the pub of Hog's Head in Hogsmeade. I think you know the chocolate cauldrons from the chocolate candy, but did you know they are filled with Firewhisky? There are a lot of interesting stories about this drink and I'm going to tell you some of them! Did you know that Ron's uncle used to drink a whole bottle to get to the dance floor? Speaking of Ron Weasley he thought he could buy firewiskhy because he thought the bartender wouldn't check if he had the right or not, luckily Hermione who wasn't too happy brought him to his senses! Would you like to know one more thing? Well in 1996 Harold Dingle offered to sell Firewhisky to two gryffindors students you may know, Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan. Why did he do this? To celebrate the end of exams of course! That's the end of his little anecdotes about this drink, but don't forget not to abuse Firewhisky!

Bott's Every Flavour Beans

Let's finish up with some colorful treats with a lot of different flavors, let me introduce you to Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. No anecdotes or info on their history or recent developments but we will discover together some of their different flavors (but there are obviously many more)! You surely know that there are fruit flavors like strawberry, cherry or cranberry but there are also vegetable flavors like colliflower or eggplant and even meat flavors if you ever want to taste a sausage or even tripe flavor know that there are some!If your thing is fish don't worry there are salmon beans and even sardine beans! If you like the stranger or weirder flavors there are belly button int or envelope glue and even dirty sock, personally that's not what looks the most delicious. Luckily there are sweeter things like blueberry pie, vanilla ice cream, toffee pudding, marshmallow and many other delights! But there are so many that it's hard to say everything, so I'll say goodbye on this sweet note!

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog! This is a little break for me from interviews. I loved doing lots of research on the Wiki. I had a lot of fun while writing and I hope really you were able to discover some new things! Have a great day!
