Welcome to our new Travel Series, which is where we show you all things Harry Potter related in the UK!

For our debut, we are going to be telling you all about The Potter Trail.

The Potter Trail is a tour in Edinburgh designed especially for Potter fans! You will find out all the locations which inspired J.K Rowling to create beloved characters and even locations of the book series, and even visit the places where she even wrote the books!

The best part is that it costs NOTHING! Yes, you read that right, it is absolutely free! So there is no need for you burning through your pockets to view the tour.

Each tour lasts an hour and fifteen minutes and it is suitable for a family day trip.

The Potter Trail leaves at the statue of Greyfriars Bobby on George IV Bridge in Edinburgh and ends at nearby Victoria Terrace

Our Headmistress, Lyra Copeland was lucky enough to visit the trail and had this to say about it:

“The Edinburgh Harry Potter Trail is an amazing experience, whether you do the official trail or not. It is completely free of charge and I would say it is absolutely worth attending.

Although it may be smarter to take the official route and get a guide, considering myself and my best friend got lost in the Greyfriars graveyard searching for the grave that gave JK Rowling the inspiration for Tom Riddle’s name. The grave itself is beautiful and was covered in flowers left out for the dark lord himself.

Sitting in the Elephant house cafe was also as amazing, with the perfect view to the castle you can see exactly why she got the inspiration for Hogwarts castle sitting in there. The entire place was full of Harry Potter Memorabilia and even a photo of JK Rowling herself is was definitely a great spot to be. I'd personally recommend their waffles! Now I never got to finish the entire tour but even the little snippets that I did see brought the Harry Potter story a lot closer to my heart, I would 100% recommend attending if you're visiting or located near Edinburgh.”

If our Headmistress is recommending this, you should DEFINITELY go to the tour
