Into the Unknown
Having graduated from Hogwarts, Max Paige now works with a professional private investigator/ghost hunter in Inverness, Scotland while living on Ghost Island...
Ghostly Light
For the past seven years, September had been an exciting time for me and my three best friends (Tessa, Chris and Ben). We would have already been to Diagon Alley to purchase our school supplies, and we’d then take the Hogwarts Express to school. There would be new firsties to welcome, a feast to enjoy, and friends to reunite with. We’d then go through the regular student routines including classes, meals, homework, and some Quidditch games thrown in just for fun. Life was easy; it was figured out, for the next eleven months anyway.

Now, everything has changed. Adulthood had flown in like the Phoenix and it was time to rise to the challenge of a new chapter. The four of us had moved into a house on Ghost Island, off the coast of Italy. As you may or may not know by now, we had been initiated into “Legion”, a group of treasure hunters scouring for artifacts and clues that could help solve the mystery of Ghost Island.

On top of this, to pay the rent, I now worked as an apprentice for James Dresden, ghost hunter and private investigator in Inverness, Scotland. Apparently he had a son in Hogwarts now, but I hadn’t connected with him yet.

My first case reminded me of classes from Professor Worthington in DADA, with a bit of History of Magic mixed in. We’d been summoned to the Ness Islands, where a man named Mitchell Lambert had claimed to see some strange red sparks in the forest on one of the islands. He’d been worried that there was some strange spiritual presence on the island, so of course he called us!

As we approached, we saw that the red sparks were in fact shooting up to form a circle. Curiously enough we moved even closer and saw that there was a bonfire shooting sparks that danced in the sky along with the red ones. There were also women dancing around holding up there wands and singing “Vermillious!”

James took a picture or two to bring back to Lambert, and assured him that what he had seen was not ghosts, but in fact modern day Druids! I’m sure glad I paid attention in DADA and HOM!
